Hotel Starkl

Overview

Starkl is a heritage hotel in Bled, welcoming guests since 1928. I designed its website: a warm, refined home for the hotel that carries almost a century of history into a booking a guest can complete in a few taps.

The site had to do two things at once. Tell the story of the place, and turn that story into reservations, for guests arriving from across the region in four languages.

Design

The design leans into the hotel’s heritage: a serif wordmark beneath a hand-drawn S monogram, deep forest green with warm cream, and photography that lets the rooms, the food, and the interiors speak. Composed and unhurried, in Slovenian, English, German, and Italian.

Screens

From the welcome and the story, through gastronomy, a fusion of Mediterranean and traditional Slovenian cuisine, and the selected interiors, to a clean reservation flow with a calendar and instant availability. Everything a guest needs, one thumb-scroll away.
