LlamaRisk

Brand, website, product and design system, 2025 / 2026

LlamaRisk is DeFi’s risk infrastructure layer, the team institutions and protocols trust to manage onchain risk. Over a year, I rebuilt their identity end to end: brand, website, product design, and design system. Then I positioned them as the Guardians of DeFi.

LlamaRisk provides risk intelligence and automated risk management for decentralized finance. They advise protocols on collateral frameworks and stress simulations, run a live risk dashboard, and build the LlamaGuard suite across valuation, verification, and enforcement. Their clients move serious value onchain: Aave, Ethena, Chainlink, Curve. My job was to make a deeply technical operation look as credible as the work behind it.

They came to me for the whole identity: brand and brandbook, logo, and a fresh design for both the website and the products. One designer to own the entire visual language, from the first mark to the last screen, with engineering alongside to ship it.

The hard part was translation. Get the website exactly right, its purpose, colour, and tone, then turn genuinely complex DeFi risk concepts into interfaces that surface the right information at the right moment. All of it had to read as one thing: a serious, institutional partner for a market going fully onchain, where trust is the product.

The direction I set: LlamaRisk as the Guardian of DeFi. Not another risk provider, but the risk manager standing over the space, guarding the players inside it and backing them around the clock with the sharpest analysis and recommendations. Everything followed from that one idea. Logo, colour, typography, and tone all position LlamaRisk above every other risk provider, and make that authority feel earned rather than claimed.

Colour system

The website had to speak to institutions, banks, and service providers all at once, without diluting the message for any of them. A clean, confident design language that neither over- nor undersells, tuned to signal stability and trust on the first scroll.

Website

In the products, I translated what DeFi clients actually need into the interface. Risk scores, exposures, oracle performance, and recommendations each get a clear hierarchy, so the signal that matters is the one you see first, with the depth a click away.

Solutions

To make all of this scale, I built the LlamaRisk design system. Every component is fully custom, made for the way their products work rather than pulled from an off-the-shelf kit. One consistent language across the dashboard, the reports, and every new surface, so the product keeps growing without the design drifting.

At its centre is the logo: a compact two-mark monogram with the LlamaRisk wordmark, held to a tight palette of deep forest, cream, and grey. It always reads as itself on any surface, light or dark.

LlamaGuard Suite is LlamaRisk’s own product line, its automated risk layer. I designed the whole suite from the product standpoint, end to end: what each product does, how its data is structured, every screen a user touches. It carries a distinct identity across web and product while staying clearly part of LlamaRisk. Built for what’s coming, it moves DeFi beyond monitoring toward full risk execution, where protocols keep complete ownership and visibility over how risk is managed.

The suite runs across three layers, each branded as its own product:

  • NAV, the valuation layer. Risk-managed pricing that brings new categories of financial products onchain safely: real-world assets, structured credit, equities, commodities.
  • Proof, the verification layer. Continuous verification of reserves and collateral, onchain and off, for real-time solvency monitoring of tokenized and structured products.
  • Actions, the enforcement layer. Automated enforcement that responds in real time, adjusting parameters the moment thresholds are breached or anomalies appear. Coming soon.

NAV shows the product work best: a live valuation dashboard that leads with price, deviation bounds, and health, then opens into the full breakdown: per-asset exposures, oracle behaviour, and the events that moved the number.

After launch, LlamaRisk grew more visible and more valuable, winning more clients and more risk work as the new identity did its job. The turning point was Aave. The partnership put LlamaRisk in a far bigger spotlight, and the brand was ready to carry it.
