Website

Starkl is a heritage hotel in Bled that has welcomed guests since 1928. I designed its website as both an introduction to the place and a direct route to booking.

The challenge was balancing those two jobs. The site needed enough character to communicate almost a century of history, but it could not let storytelling get in the way of the practical information someone needs before making a reservation. It also needed to work consistently across Slovenian, English, German and Italian.

The visual direction draws from the hotel’s heritage without turning the website into a historical pastiche. A serif wordmark, hand drawn S monogram, deep green and warm cream establish the identity, while photography does most of the work in communicating the rooms, food and atmosphere.

The interface stays restrained around it.

The structure follows the questions a prospective guest is likely to have. What is this place? What does it feel like? Where will I stay? What can I eat? When is it available?

The experience moves from the hotel’s story through rooms and gastronomy into availability and booking without separating inspiration from action. On mobile, the same path is designed to remain simple enough to complete with one hand.
